Cast Biographies

Erin Aissen (Townsperson)

Erin

Erin is 17 years old and going into her Senior year. She loves spending time with her family & pets. When she isn't at dance or piano lessons Erin can usually be found doing something crafty, whether it's crocheting a gift or sculpting, she seems to always have something in her hands. Erin is excited to be back on stage in The Music Man after taking a two year break from theatre. This is her fourth time performing on Gallagher's stage, she's been in the Nutcracker Ballet twice and was in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Katie Albright-Hansen (Pick A Little Lady)

KATE

Katie works in Pre-K in Special Education for the Waterloo Community Schools. When she is not inspiring the next generation she loves to spend time with her friends and family. She is excited to be a part of this show and she hopes you enjoy it as much as she has.

Jayda Baumhover (Mrs. Squires)

Jayda

As UNI alum and employee, Jayda Baumhover is thrilled for her first GBPAC performance with this community collaboration. Her theatre credits include WCP’s The Little Mermaid (2023), and CFCT’s The Book Club Play (2024), Miracle on 34th Street (2022), and Holiday Inn (2019). She’d like to dedicate her performance in memory of her late grandmother, Janet.

Ryan Black (Jacey Squires)

Ryan enjoys being both on and off the stage to help bring shows to life. His most recent credits include acting in Kinky Boots and The Little Mermaid with WCP, and sound design for Legally Blonde with WCP. When not acting or sound designing, he is a fourth grade teacher at North Butler Elementary.

Brad Braley (Constable Locke)

This is Brad’s 4th time participating in a Music Man production in 55 years. He loves the story and songs , and looks forward to getting to know the cast and performing on the GBPAC stage. He is a semi-retired pastor.

Chase Burbridge (Marcellus Washburn)

Chase is proud to make this his 19th acting production after recently being seen in local shows including CFCT's Rent in the Ensemble and in Waterloo CP's production of Kinky Boots as Harry/Ensemble. He's a recent University of Northern Iowa graduate and currently works as an intern in the marketing department at SPMB. He wishes to thank all of his friends and family (including his Mom, Dad, Dean, Dylan, and Morgan) for their support of him and his dreams over the years! Chase has had a love of acting from a very young age and plans make this his career, enjoy the show!

John Claassen (Townsperson)

I am a 16 year old junior, I go to the cedar falls high school where I run cross country and track and field, I’ve been in 5 shows before this including footloose, shrek the musical, Saturday night fever, the happy elf, and legally blonde, I’m very excited to be in such an amazing show with great people. I enjoy playing basketball with my friends and playing video games. Have an amazing day and enjoy the show!

Cale Clark (Tommy Djilas)

Cale Clark is thrilled to be part of this production at Gallagher! Cale is a sophomore and is on the swim team. He enjoys reading, traveling & playing the piano. Cale’s recent productions include Legally Blonde and The Hobbit.

Gabrielle Cook (Ethel Toffelmier)

Gabrielle is so excited to be preforming with this wonderful cast for her first show on the GBPAC stage. Since graduating from UNI with a degree in theatre performance, Gabrielle has been enjoying her time working on local theatre. Some of her most recent roles include Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Candy in Saturday Night Fever, Flotsam in The Little Mermaid, and Lauren in Kinky Boots. Gabrielle would like to thank her family, friends, and fiance Mason, for their unending love and support.

Jessica Crouch (Pick-A-Little Lady) 

Jessica

Jessica is a well-being consultant & coach. She loves traveling, organizing, puzzling, singing, and dancing. Joseph and Hello Dolly top her list of favorite musical experiences - which were made possible by the support of her husband and two kids.

Kaleb Dufel (Newspaper Reader/Townsperson)

Kaleb

Kaleb Dufel is making his GBPAC debut in this production! He is currently a senior at UNI studying Theatre Performance. He works as Kitchen Staff at Scratch Cupcakery. Previous WCP-BHCT/CFCT credits include Julius Caesar, The Hobbit, and Mamma Mia.

Henry Edsill (Mayor Shinn)

Henry

Henry loves playing odd and quirky characters, especially ones living of edge of apoplexy. In his spare time he enjoys stamp collecting and hunting for Bakelite buttons with his wife, Norma. His evenings right now are spent learning to play "Christmas Island" on his ukelele.

Malachi Esser (Townsperson)

Malachi

Malachi has been a fan of music from a very early age, and he participated in Drama Day Camp through his church camp a few years ago. Now, starting middle school, he is excited to put his love for music into action by playing one of the boys in the River City band. He is also happy to share the stage with his mom and cousin, and he hopes you enjoy the show!

Elsie Gabel (Townsperson)

Elsie

Elsie is thrilled to be starting her theater debut! Although this is her first musical she is no stranger to performing. She plays the piano and clarinet at Peet Jr. High, and love's to sing. She has participated in multiple variety show's, and piano competitions. In her free time she likes to play games with her family and bake focaccia! (Look it up:)

Kim Groniga (Mrs. Paroo)

Kim

Kim Groninga is an adjunct professor in Languages and Literatures at UNI and Wartburg College. She last appeared as Annie Wilkes in Misery at WCP and, on the GBPAC stage, as the unfortunate baker in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. She also recently directed Silent Sky at WCP and The Happy Elf at CFCT. She thanks her husband for his support and her daughter for her inspiration.

Jeffrey Hansen (Newspaper Reader/Townsperson)

Jeffrey

A veteran of the Cedar Valley theatre scene. Jeffrey is beyond excited to be in his first production on the Gallagher-Bluedorn stage. To be in Music Man as an Iowan is a special experience for him and he hopes the audience can experience a similar passion and joy.

Sarah Hess (Traveling Salesman + Townsperson)

Sarah

Sarah is thrilled to appear with her talented daughter in another Cedar Valley collaboration. Previously she worked with Lampost Theatre Co., took a hiatus and recently was in "Joseph..." She works as a mom, Spanish interpreter and with Orchard Hill Church. Thank you to her support team: her incredible family and friends!

Selah Grace Hess (Townsperson)

Selah Grace is so excited to be a part of this production of Music Man! This will be her 7th performance onstage and 9th altogether. Some productions you may have seen her in before are Emma! a Pop Musical, and Joesph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She thanks her Mom for everything she’s done to help her out in this production.

Lorelei Hinebaugh (Townsperson)

Lorel

Lorelei is a junior at Union high school and has been in three prior productions. She has been in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at GBPAC, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Seussical the Musical at her high school. Lorelei is very excited to help bring the story of Music Man to life.

Tony John (Olin Britt)

Tony

Tony is a veteran at WCP and CFCT and has been on stage or done sound design for many shows including Always Patsy Cline, Ring of Fire, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and The Library. He is very excited to be in this show! Tony is retired and when not performing, he spends time with his wife Susan, playing guitar and bass, recording songs, and attempting to play golf. Tony thanks his wife Susan for her support and encouragement.

Rick Johnson (Conductor)

Since my semi-retirement in 2016, I have been in more than a dozen shows at CFCT, WCP/BHCT, and independent productions. I have published two mystery novels and am presently working on a very different story. My fun time is spent with Paula, my love for more than 50 years, as we go to events concerning grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ellie Lamp (Townsperson)

Ellie Lamp

Ellie is a fourth grader at Grundy Center Elementary. The Music Man is her theatrical debut. She takes hip-hop, lyrical, and clogging classes and is a member of Spartan Senate.

Grant Lee (Salesman + Oliver Hix)

I’ve been in theatre since I was a kid and I fell in love with it. Not sure where I’m going in life other then going up. Remember my name because soon you’ll see it in lights.

Lauren Leman (Townsperson)

Lauren

Lauren Leman graduated from UNI with her master's degree in vocal performance in 2023. Since then, she has performed locally and professionally with Cedar Rapids Opera, Cedar Falls Community Theatre, and the Bay View Music Festival in Michigan. She teaches voice and piano lessons at the UNI Community Music School, and is the Director of Music Ministries at St. Timothys United Methodist Church. Lauren has loved The Music Man since she performed in her first production of it at 12 years old.

Rachel Lyons (Townsperson)

Rachel

Rachel is an 8th grader at St Patrick School in Cedar Falls. She plays the flute in band and loves to sing. She is very excited to be in her first community theater production!

Arlo Masmar (Winthrop)

Arlo

Arlo Masmar is a very excited 7 year old who loves to perform! His favorite past roles being Young Charlie in WCP’s Kinky Boots and Little Norbert in CFCT’s The Happy Elf. He has been dancing his entire life, but is currently in his 4th year of dance training with experience in styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and German folk dance. He also enjoys reading, rollerblading/skateboarding, Pokemon, and playing soccer, and would like to thank his parents and little siblings for all their support!

Jeff Morgan (Townsperson) 

Jeff Morgan

Jeff Morgan's appearance in The Music Man marks his second official theater production; the first was 35 years ago as a high school freshman. He teaches physics and science education at the University of Northern Iowa. In his spare time, he sings in a local barbershop chorus, quartet, and church choir, and attempts home renovation projects after severely underestimating time to completion.

Makena is thrilled to be joining her first musical production. She is in third grade at Denver Elementary.

Jean Nies (Maud Dunlop + Salesman) 

Jean Nies

Jean Nies has fond memories of singing "Iowa Stubborn" when driving to Iowa to join Lampost Theatre Company in 2011, and she is delighted to sing it with this amazing cast on the GBPAC stage! Past roles in the area include Scuttle in The Little Mermaid, a Narrator in Joseph...Dreamcoat, and Paunch in Toys in the Attic. When not onstage, she enjoys working as Kids Ministry Director at Trinity Bible Church, dancing with husband Michael, reading with daughter Miriam, and doting on cats Jasmine and Lida Rose.

Tonya Obermire (Alma Hix)

Tonya Obermire is thrilled to be representing Willson’s hometown, having lived and worked in Mason City for 15 years. Her job as a dental hygiene instructor at Hawkeye Community brought her to the Cedar Valley in 2023. Tonya has been involved in community theatre productions of Gypsy (1996) and Grease (2001) in Oskaloosa, and Fiddler on the Roof (2014) in Mason City. When not on stage, she has played the role of Drama Mama to her children in their past theatrical pursuits, and now as Glamma to her grandchildren.

Veronica Occeña (Amaryllis)

Veronica Occeña is thrilled to be playing the role of Amaryllis. Previous stage credits include Les in Newsies Jr., Squirelle 1.5 in Elephant and Piggie: We Are in a Play, and a member of the children’s chorus in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. When not on stage, Veronica enjoys practicing violin (and flute and glockenspiel), dancing, reading, and biking. She is a fifth grade student at St. Patrick School.

Jenna Peterson (Townsperson)

Jenna is active in the community through her work as Neighborhood Impact Coordinator with Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, and likes to sing at her church. She is excited to make her first local theater appearance in The Music Man. Jenna previously performed on stage in shows, choirs, bands, and flute choirs at Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, Honors Choirs of Southeast Minnesota, and her high school in Rochester, MN. She is so grateful to her family for fostering a lifelong love for music and the arts!

Violet Roman (Townsperson)

Violet is delighted to be in her first production in the Cedar Valley! She has previously been on stage in her hometown of Independence where she played Mary in “A Very Mixed Up Christmas Pageant” at First Presbyterian Church and Gracie Green in “Crayola Crayon” with IACT. Prior to moving to Iowa, Violet also had background roles in films and television series filmed in New Mexico; most notably as “Miss Sticky Fingers” in an episode of ‘Roswell, NM’. Violet loves singing, crafting, and playing with her corgi Dozer.

Lilly Schildroth (Zaneeta Shinn)

I will be a senior at Cedar Falls High School where I participate in choir, speech, golf, and theater. I’m excited for another WCP/CFCT collaboration at Gallagher, as I was in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2022.

Ava Schimdt (Gracie Shinn)

I'm Ava. I'm currently a 6th grader at Aldrich Elementary. I love music and acting, as well as volleyball and gymnastics. I have been in two other musicals and i'm super excited to perform at the Gallagher with this amazing group of people.

Ryleigh Schnell (Townsperson)

Ryleigh is so excited to be making her acting debut at Gallagher, especially with this musical! She is a 1st grade teacher at Orchard Hill Elementary here in Cedar Falls. When not at school or on stage, Ryleigh loves to listen to podcasts, read books, and take her dog Wilson on walks!

Mason Sealock (Ewart Dunlop)

Mason Sealock, who also serves in the production as music director, is thrilled to be returning for another Cedar Valley community theatre production. Since graduating from the UNI School of Music in 2020, Mason has directed music for The Rocky Horror Show, Always Patsy Cline, The Little Mermaid, and Kinky Boots, among others. Mason would like to thank his friends, family, and his fiancée, Gabrielle, for their endless support of his musical adventures.

Adelyn Sittig (Townsperson)

Adelyn is currently in her second year at the University of Northernn Iowa studying Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Music. In her hometown, Adelyn was in her highschool's productions of Xanadu, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Shrek: The Musical. She is so excited to be apart of this show and is so grateful for this opportunity!

Raechel Sittig-Esser (Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn)

The opportunity to play Zaneeta in the WCP production of The Music Man many years ago helped to cement Raechel’s love for theater. Since then, she has performed many other roles; including the real life roles of teacher, wife, daughter sister, aunt, and mom. She is thrilled to be in this production, and sharing the stage with her son and niece. Thanks to all those who have supported her and shared the joy of theater with her over the years!

Casey Tecklenburg (Professor Harold Hill)

Casey Tecklenburg is the director of vocal music at Peet Junior High School in Cedar Falls. He has taught vocal music and theater in the Cedar Valley for almost a decade, having previously served as vocal music director and Speech coach for both the Hudson and Union Community School Districts. Casey holds a degree in Music from Luther College, and is a proud alumnus of Union High School and the decorated Union Music, Theater, and Speech programs. He was recently seen in WCP's 2021 production of Our Town as Constable Warren. Other roles include drumming for the pit orchestras of CFCT's Mamma Mia in 2021, and A Christmas Carol in 2019. Casey is proud to appear as the titular role in Meredith Wilson's classic valentine to the Hawkeye State!

Anastasia Vasilistova (Townsperson)

My hobbies are painting, sketching, biking, and I like to talk to myself, even though it is not a hobby. Also, I like to play and annoy my one year old kitten and my fat cat, too. My school is St. Patrick, and it's my first year there. Goodbye!

Kim Willow (Marian)

Kim Willow recently moved to the Cedar Valley and is excited to join this wonderful collaboration! She has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and has performed professionally in national tours (the hit Church Basement Ladies series) and regional theatre all over the country. Favorite credits include: Cosette (Les Miserables), Peggy Sawyer (42nd Street), Lily St. Regis (Annie) and Cinderella (Into the Woods). Many thanks to my husband, Chad, and daughters, June and Claire, for letting mom get back to the stage!

Elizabeth Burdine (She/Her) is a graduate of UNI's Textile and Apparels Program. She has costumed several shows for the Waterloo Community Playhouse/Black Hawk Children's Theatre.

Denise Clipperton (Properties Head)

Raised near Mason City, IA, I was immersed in the Music Man culture which included the 1962 world premiere of the movie and the love of all-things Meredith Willson. I'm delighted to be back in River City!

Mandy Masmar (Choreography)

Mandy Masmar is a midwest-based freelance dance professional for hire and the current Artistic Director of the UNI Orchesis Dance Company, and has choreographed nearly 100 different creative works over her 15 year career between this company and others around the state of Iowa. She has choreographed 2 world premiere musicals Just Ann and The Suffragist, which provided the opportunity to work with members of the Broadway community, as well as, choreographing 20+ productions for TheatreUNI, CFCT, WCP, UNI Opera, and Theatre Cedar Rapids such as RENT, Into the Woods, Hair, Elephant and Piggie: We’re in a Play!, Hansel and Gretel, and Kinky Boots to name a few. Aharon Moody (Sound Designer)
Aharon has served as an Assistant Technical Director at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center since February 2022. Prior to that, he worked in various roles throughout the live entertainment industry.

Bethany Nelson (Assistant Stage Manager)
Bethany works at the Waterloo Public Library and has acted in several productions in the area over the last two years. She enjoys cooking, reading, and photography

Amanda Reiter (Makeup Head)

This will be my 10th production in the local theater, 6 leading makeup and 4 performing. I have 2 kids, keigan and ahnalee who love hanging backstage with the cast. I work at mudd and love being able to use my creative talents in the theater!

Amanda Ristvedt (Assistant Technical Director)

Amanda R. Ristvedt is grateful to serve as the Assistant Technical Director at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center and has had the privilege of working on many productions across Iowa. Her portfolio includes working on major league baseball games held at the Field of Dreams; local shows such as Footloose and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; and various traveling Broadway productions like The Book of Mormon, South Pacific, and Rent. Amanda appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the arts and is thankful for the support of her colleagues and the theater community.

Anita Ross (Director)

Anita is excited to be working on this collaboration with such a dedicated and talented production team, cast, and crew. She is the Executive Director of Waterloo Community Playhouse/Black Hawk Children's Theatre and has worked professionally with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and Poetry Alive! Anita has studied with several companies and organizations and has earned Masters degrees from Indiana University and Purdue University. She thanks Alan for his support and love and our audiences for attending live theatre productions.

Chris Tuzicka (Lighting Designer)
Chris has served as a part of the Gallagher Bluedorn technical team for over 19 years and as  the technical director since 2021. He has over 25 years experience in the theatre industry. 

Jason Weinberger (Symphony Conductor)
Jason is currently Artistic Director of Iowa’s pioneering ensemble wcfsymphony, having also spent four years in a unique dual role combining his musical work with the responsibilities of CEO. Jason is also a dynamic proponent of the arts throughout the Cedar Valley and spearheads wcfsymphony’s wide-ranging community engagement initiatives.
